HOW WE MET
We attended the same high school in the same year level but had different social circles. It wasn't until years later that our paths properly crossed at our local nightclub… romantic we know!
Matt swept me off my feet when I least expected it but his timing was like fate. We fell in love quickly and blended into each other’s lives seamlessly as if we'd never known anything different.
We are lucky enough to live on a river with a beautiful deck overlooking the water. We had planned to have breakfast outside on this particular morning which was certainly romantic, but not out of the norm for us. Before we started eating, Matt got down on one knee, turned on his country boy charm and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Of course, I said yes!
Nothing fancy, just love. Our day was a rustic farm wedding starting off on the beautiful property we call home. We also just so happened to land our wedding in the middle of a major flood. As stressful as it was during the lead-up, the high river gave a picturesque backdrop for our ceremony and made our day quite memorable to say the least. We wouldn't be able to re-create it again if we tried!
We created an amazing outdoor space under festoons for our reception and the rest of the celebrations to take place. With a ‘build your own burger bar’, a hay bale booth Giant Jenga, the most energetic dancefloor with our nearest and dearest, we created the wedding of our dreams and had the best time of our lives.
THE OUTFIT AND ACCESSORIES
Living rurally, I tried on so many gowns in nearby towns but none of them gave me that ‘The One’ feeling I was waiting for. After nearly giving up and looking into a custom option, I stumbled across the Cupid gown from Chérie by Oui on Facebook and thought oh my God, it's my dress!
I booked an appointment to try it on in Melbourne at Maison Oui – 4 hours from where I live. From the moment I saw Cupid on the hanger, I knew straight away it was the one!
The smile and excitement it gave me were indescribable. The Cupid gown with its stunning 3D lace, embroidery and balloon sleeve option gave me the statement look I was searching for. I paired it with pearl drop earrings and a plain veil as the detail on the dress did all the talking. I absolutely loved my dress on the day and fell entirely in love with it again after seeing my photos.
