HOW WE MET
It was the beginning of summer 2018, Alex messaged me on a dating app and I saw that we had some friends in common, so I messaged him back and we had our first date in the boxing gym that lasted about 10 hours. After our first date, we continued to see each other and before long, officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.
THE PROPOSAL
It was a cold Saturday morning and we went for an early morning walk to our favourite park. Suddenly, I saw that our dog had a ribbon around his neck. I went to pick it up and realised that there was a ring attached to the ribbon, I stood up and turned towards Alex and he proposed right then and there.
Speechless and bursting with joy, I also found that he had been to Finland that same week to ask my dad if he could marry me when I thought he had been in Germany for a work trip.
I had butterflies the whole day.
THE WEDDING DAY
We were originally going to have a big wedding in France, but due to COVID-19, we ended up having a smaller and more intimate affair in a garden setting, surrounded by wildflowers and trees. Our wedding day was stormy and rainy but I wouldn't have changed a thing as it truly was the best day of my life.
The ceremony was followed by a cocktail reception, dinner and after-party. Our DJ, singers, violinist and guitarist kept the atmosphere alive and everyone was dancing and singing on tables into the late evening. The end of the night was filled with laughter and dancing, and some of the boys even jumped into the pool with their suits on!
It was a blast and it went in a blink of an eye. It was also the most emotional, romantic, fun and happy day of my life.
THE OUTFIT AND ACCESSORIES
It was love at first sight. I fell in love with the Bebe gown as it was modern and oh so stylish. The dress’ fabric drew my attention and it looked even better in real life than in pictures. I loved all the beautiful layers, especially the embroidery that was perfectly suited to our garden wedding.
I knew that I didn't want a pure white, classic, typical ballgown wedding dress, so the Bebe was absolutely perfect. It really flattered my figure, and I loved the open back. It was also so comfortable to wear, which meant I was able to dance the night away in it.
I wanted to keep my accessories simple so my dress could be the main focus. I wore simple pearl earrings, my grandma's golden bangle bracelet, white Reformation heels for the ceremony, and changed into Aquazzura's golden lace-up sandals afterwards.
